Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an integral part of traditional Oriental medicine, a complete system of health care practiced for over 3000 years. Oriental medicine includes acupuncture, acupressure, tui na (massage), cupping, moxibustion (mugwort herb), gua sha (dermal friction), and dietary/lifestyle counseling. These therapies work with the body’s Qi (pronounced Chee), the natural vital energy within all of us, to promote healing.
How Does it Work?
This vital energy flows along pathways called meridians. Acupuncture points are located along meridians, each point having a specific effect on Qi. Very fine needles are inserted into the skin to stimulate specific points on the body for therapeutic purposes. This practice balances the movement of Qi in the body to restore health.
